North Hop was proudly passed on from the incredible Michelle to its new owners, and after a well-deserved break, we are thrilled to announce that North Hop is finally back and ready to make its return in Summer 2025!

With a fresh vision but the same dedication to showcasing the best craft beer, delicious food, and incredible live music, we’re bringing the festival back bigger and better than ever. We are committed to carrying forward the North Hop legacy, celebrating Scotland’s thriving craft beer scene, and creating an unforgettable experience for all. The wait is over—get ready to raise a glass, reconnect, and experience the North Hop magic once again!

Just over 9 years on from our very first festival in Inverness I’m delighted (and sad) to announce North Hop has been sold and I’ll be passing over the reigns to the new owners in due course…I have however been asked to stay on as a consultant for the first four festivals to ensure North Hop’s core values and elements you all love remain so I’ll still be sticking around for a pint or two yet! 😉🍻

So, this time 8 years ago North Hop 2015 at @edencourttheatrecinema in Inverness was well underway, and boy what a weekend it was!! 😍🍻🎶🥘🍹💃🍰🎉

Fast forward to 2023 and I’m delighted to say we have some rather exciting news to share with you all very soon so watch this space…

Ok, so the time has come to pass on the North Hop baton for someone to take it on its next adventure! 🍻🌮🎶🥂🍦🛍️🍹🍔

Started in 2014 North Hop was only ever meant to be a wee festival in the Highlands, and very quickly developed and grew and 9 years later has been across Scotland with large scale festivals and smaller pop ups, as well as some exciting collaborations! 😍

It’s taken me a long time to be able to get to the stage of parting with ‘my baby’ but I just don’t have the time or physical ability (with all my ongoing back issues) to be able to take it any further! 😢 But I know there is so much potential there for someone to put their own twist and mark on North Hop and take it further…

Fab wee collaboration to check out in Inverness on Saturday 1st April to celebrate @theredshankuk re-opening at the Marina for the season! 🎉

They will be joined by @ollies.pops (evening only), @tagliotello and @drinkmeevents with the option to enjoy the goodies there at their outdoor seating area with cracking views across the Moray Firth or to take away…

The fab team at @dolphinspiritinverness will also be running a special offer for local folk, and there may be a few other special things on the go! 😉

Opening times from 11am to 7pm (or possibly later depending on demand), with plenty of parking on site! 👌

So we may be out of the game now for events and festivals but with such a big and loyal following on here I figured we should utilise that to get the names out there about some amazing food/drink/makers/music (existing or new) cause after all that’s always what North Hop has been about, and also highlight any other exciting festivals/events taking place…

So to kick things off here’s 3 very different but awesome charcuterie companies that featured on our Christmas Eve sharing board…we’ve got @eastcoastcured who I have been a massive fan of for years, and you can visit their shop in Leith, Edinburgh, find them at markets or get their awesome produce sent out by post. Then we’ve got @bogrowfarm (the original home of @stormthehighlandspringador) who create not only fab charcuterie but bacon, etc too, all from their own pigs, and again they can be found in local farm shops and at markets. And last but not least is new kids on the block (this was just a sample pack) @moocdu with their super tasty snacking salamis and other salamis too, these ones were mango and five chilli…I believe they are just about to launch a website but again can also be found in local farm shops and at markets! 💥

So there you go, plenty of options to go get your charcuterie on…

Happy New Year folks 🎉 although 2023 is going to look a bit different for North Hop as we won’t have any events taking place! 😞

Any one in the events/hospitality industry will know how tough things have been the last few years and that isn’t going to change anytime soon…costs have sky high, folk don’t have the same budgets to be spending on going out, some people are becoming increasingly more difficult/awkward to work with/attitudes have changed, and in 2022 I watched the event scene change dramatically as both an organiser, vendor and visitor…

I am going to miss working with all the amazing breweries, distilleries and makers but thankfully i should hopefully still be working with a lot of them via my other businesses @drinkmeevents, @snowmarketing and @highlandtidedesigns! 🥰

Event styling and prop hire are still available through Drink Me, and I still have a wealth of great contacts in the event industry so please shout out if you are needing any advice/help…

It’s been an awesome 9 years and I just want to take this opportunity to say thanks to all the lovely vendors, venues, suppliers and of course my own crew I have had the pleasure of working with in this time! 😘

Unfortunately due to worsening weather conditions & poor forecast though we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel this weekends Festive Fling Food Fest! 😞 This wasn’t a decision we took lightly but safety for our vendors and you guys comes first! 😘
